Does Your Résumé Speak "Finance" or "Business"?

The Translator writes: "Accelerated reporting cycle by 3 days, giving the Executive Team 72 additional hours per month to react to market trends and adjust forecast models."
See the difference? The first is a task. The second is a business advantage.
The Board doesn't care about the "Close"; they care about the Agility that a faster close provides. You must translate the operational win into a strategic benefit.
2. Influence Without Authority
The hardest part of the CFO job isn't the math; it's telling a Sales VP they can't hire more reps, or telling a CEO that their pet project is a capital drain.
Your résumé must highlight your ability to influence peers.
Do not just list: "Partnered with Sales and Operations."
Instead, write: "Leveraged data modeling to realign the Sales Commission structure, shifting behavior from 'volume-chasing' to 'margin-focused' selling, resulting in a 4% lift in gross profit."
This proves you can use financial data to change human behavior. That is the definition of leadership.
